A Note on Gender Expression
For clarity, when the use of a gender neutral term or expression would be cumbersome, e.g., ‘his/her’, ‘he/she’, or ‘chairperson’, ‘salesperson’, etc., we have used the masculine form. Words such as ‘him’ or ‘his’ in a group context, and the word ‘man’ in a larger word such as ‘chairman’ means—and has etymologically and historically always meant—’person’.
